Platform Statement
PoliceRiskIndex is an automated data aggregation platform that processes publicly available government records, including court filings, municipal open data feeds, and federal consent decree reports. The platform applies a standardized risk classification methodology to organize records by fiscal liability exposure.
All data displayed is sourced directly from official public records. PoliceRiskIndex does not create, edit, or interpret the underlying events. No editorial judgments, conclusions, or characterizations are applied to individuals.
The platform presents structured representations of publicly documented records for analytical and informational purposes. PoliceRiskIndex does not investigate, accuse, or assert wrongdoing. It functions as a data system reflecting information already in the public domain.
Data Sources & Accuracy
All settlement amounts, officer names, and incident records displayed on this platform are reproduced directly from official government source documents. Primary sources include municipal open data portals, federal court dockets accessible through PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records), city and county budget documents, and monitor reports filed with federal courts under active consent decrees.
PoliceRiskIndex makes no independent verification of the accuracy of source documents beyond confirming that the data originates from an official government authority. Settlement amounts reflect figures as documented in official records and do not constitute independent valuations or assessments.
Data is updated on a quarterly basis as new records become available through public channels. There may be a lag of 6 to 18 months between a settlement's resolution and its appearance in public records. All figures should be considered conservative estimates of total exposure.
No Liability Disclaimer
PoliceRiskIndex provides data for informational and analytical purposes only. The platform makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any information presented. Users assume full responsibility for any decisions made based on data accessed through this platform.
PoliceRiskIndex shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of, or reliance on, information presented on this platform. This includes but is not limited to underwriting decisions, legal strategy, investment decisions, or policy determinations.
Users accessing data for institutional purposes, including insurance underwriting, actuarial modeling, or legal discovery, are solely responsible for independently verifying all data points against primary source documents before acting on that information.
Names in Public Records
Officer names that appear on this platform are names that already appear in official public records — court filings, federal consent decree monitor reports, and government-published settlement documents. PoliceRiskIndex does not publish names from non-public sources.
The presence of a name in a settlement record does not constitute a finding of guilt, liability, or wrongdoing by PoliceRiskIndex. Settlement agreements frequently do not include admissions of liability. All characterizations of individual conduct are those of the originating court or government authority, not of this platform.
PoliceRiskIndex functions as a mirror of public record. We are a publisher of structured data derived from government documents, not a publisher of original claims or investigative findings.
Data Correction Policy
Parties who believe a record has been inaccurately reproduced from its source document may submit a formal correction request. Requests must include the specific record identifier, the claimed inaccuracy, and a direct link to the official government source document demonstrating the discrepancy.
Correction requests are reviewed within 30 business days. If the request demonstrates a genuine discrepancy between the data displayed and the official source document, the record will be updated to accurately reflect the source. PoliceRiskIndex does not remove records from public record sources; corrections are limited to ensuring accurate reproduction of those records.
